Thank you for your advice. Mac mini pro would be a safe option for the future. Just not sure whether it would be overkill for me. We'll see :-)

Thank you for your reply. I have been considering a mac mini with a 27 inch display but don't know what display to buy. A Studio display would be great but so expensive. Do you mind telling me what display you bought with your mac mini? I've been considering the iMac 24 because soon it will be available with the M3 chip.
