An important inconsistency is that Ibiza appears to display many official place names correctly, while Menorca does not. For example, Apple Maps shows names in Ibiza according to their official Catalan forms, but in Menorca it still displays outdated or incorrect Spanish forms such as Mahon / Mahón instead of Maó, or Ciudadela instead of Ciutadella de Menorca. This inconsistency suggests that Apple Maps is not applying the same naming criteria across all the Balearic Islands in the Spanish (Spain) locale.

I have also discussed this issue with people from the Balearic Government / official cartographic institutions, because the problem affects official geographic information. However, even they have not been able to find a clear and effective communication channel with Apple Maps to resolve these data issues. This reporting function does not seem to work properly for different types of map data. It fails not only for official city and town names, but also for neighbourhoods, duplicated or non-existent areas, and POIs. Even when the correction is supported by official geographic sources or clear local evidence, the reports are rejected without a useful explanation or a real review process.
