I tested again on iOS 17.1 (21B5066a) and the issue is still reproducible. Hiding the status bar on startup or later on breaks it.

I understand you override into .lightContext or .darkContext right? In that case, yes, the style is correctly updated. My issue though is that I want the .default behavior, and that's not working, even with the override.
