Hey, I know this is really old, but: Have you ever found a solution to this? I am still struggling with this. I am trying to get Steps from my Widget Extension, to use them in Homescreen and Lockscreen Widgets, but it always just works for the first time, after that, I randomly get 0 steps or a really old, outdated value from days ago..
