The final implementation is intended to contain only views in a cell, but for the moment we have a cell containing several views and one view controller that contains a changing number of subviews.

Thanks very much for the reply, it’s much appreciated! Could you tell me why this is necessary? Would the sub-view-controller in the sub-view (collection view cell) not behave correctly and independently without being made a child view controller?
