I was stuck on this too. Turns out I needed to update my @Relationship to accurately describe what was happening. For example, when I deleted an item I would get this crash until I added a deleteRule in my relationship. Anytime ive gotten SwiftData crashes that were hard to debug, it's always been the @Relationship so far
