It appears that TextEdit 1.18 does not display super and subscripts. The raw code for the RTF file shows the \super and \sub commands. The RTF file does display super and subscripts properly in OpenOffice 4.1.13, but does not display them in TextEdit 1.18. I am using MacOSX Ventura 13.0.1 on a Mac mini M1, 2020.
