When I try this for iOS 7 simulator (I haven't tried it for visionOS yet), I got all through your steps, except whenever I re-open Xcode beta, I get a never-ending prompts for "“iOS 17.0.simruntime” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified." When I hit cancel, it pops up again, ad infinitum. Running the update_dyld_sim_shared_cache makes them stop, but opening Xcode brings them up again (and I have to force-quit Xcode). Maybe I missed something?

Haha, omg, I see what you mean by 900 attempts. So I got it to work! Not sure which parts are necessary, but here we go. I tried rifling through macOS Settings in Security & Privacy but got nowhere. I'll add a Reply below, rather than a comment, with instructions
