I now had troubles reproducing the "Development overrides aren’t permitted" output. It looks like the backgroundassets.user process only logs that info when launched. Sometimes I need to kill it manually before launching my app, sometimes it is terminated somehow after my app terminates. FYI for anyone with similar issues.
