Thanks. However the warning also happens if the window is not shown from a method you implemented, but via the "visible at launch" attribute set in IB. In this case, it's not clear how to prevent the warning.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that wouldn't remove the warning that occurs in the 2nd and 3rd situations I describe in the OP.
