Thank you for this, Quinn. My friend and I have already finished the entire app, and our core feature revolves around background audio recording, so is this function just not allowed? It would be incredibly disappointing if this is the case.

Also, there already exists an app on the store that uses background recording: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/reclip-clip-things-irl/id1451117460 From their description: "Leave Reclip open in the background to hold on to audio from your phone’s microphone. When something happens you wanna save or share with friends, just go to the app and tap the big clip button to capture what just went down." So it seems like they have to use background audio recording to implement this, right?
