Yeah I have the same issue, a chrome extension and a safari extension but the error message in safari it totally unhelpful. How can we as developers identify the issue?

Hi Lilian, Did you ever figure out the issue? I'm facing a similar issue with my service-worker. "The service_worker script failed to load due to an error." what error though is a mystery to me. I doubt making the service worker a web_accessible_resource, is a good idea. Good luck.
