So sounds like in the case of java I'll need to take a look at the __TEXT / __info_plist section of that executable to see whether this is viable. Thanks for that example!

Tried modifying java's Info.plist but unfortunately this didn't seem to accomplish my goal :( So I suppose this is the wrong angle to attack this problem. Thanks for the insights about this anyways, though!
