Still having this issue, iOS 26 (exclusively). Any update on this please? 🙏 Since the issue/error is causing a significant delay for the first speaking experience, my current dirty workaround is to silently play a word on app load (volume = 0, rate = 1), the text must not be to short, for example "i" provides little improvement, while "initialize" seems to do the trick. This is not a solution to the issue, however patches the UX trouble.
