I tried this and realized after another remoted crash that the old copy of Beta 1 had installed. I was able to reboot in safe mode and now I'm downloading Beta 2. Mentioning in case anyone else with a failed Beta 1 decides to try again.

After about 3 failed attempts to update from beta 1 to beta 2 (using safe mode due to remoted error), I downloaded the full beta installer. I have my fingers crossed that this time things will work. I noticed a few beta anomalies, as expected (like having to sign out and back in again with my Apple ID to clear the "1" showing in the Apple ID badge in Settings). If the weird stuff continues I will remove Sophos Home from this MBP, as Sophos will not support any betas, dev or public.
