Contact names disappeared after syncing Messages in iCloud on new Mac
I got my first Mac today (14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro running the latest version of macOS). My iPhone 15 Pro is running iOS 27 Developer Beta 2. Before setting up my Mac, I went to Messages in iCloud on my iPhone and tapped Sync Now. The sync completed successfully, and all of my contacts and contact names were still there. I then signed into my new Mac and started syncing Messages in iCloud. The sync started but eventually changed to “Syncing Paused.” Right after that, random contact names disappeared from both the Contacts app and Messages on my Mac, and then the same random contact names disappeared from my iPhone. Now both my Mac and iPhone say “Syncing Paused.” If I tap Sync Now, it briefly says “Syncing…” and then goes right back to “Syncing Paused” (or on my iPhone, the Last Sync time never updates). Has anyone experienced this? I’m trying to figure out if this is an iCloud issue or a bug related to iOS 27 Developer Beta 2. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
