I was having this same problem, tried everything suggested on this thread. I did hard resets, deleted the app, ipad as a hotspot, etc. But as someone else mentioned, the only thing that worked for me: Both devices plugged in At 100% battery Then finally after hours of messing around it finally just worked. Hope that helps someone.
