Hello,
Is there any way to have the app remain in the "joined channel" state without the UI having to be displayed, only displaying it when there is incoming traffic?
Also, what if another app uses the PTT framework, my understanding is that either a) ours will be booted out or b) the other app will not be able to join, the latter meaning that if the other app is launched first, ours will not be able to?
A huge concern is that the restrictions placed on us by the PushToTalk framework are going to make it impossible to continue providing a core feature of our app that users have been using for 10 years if they have an iOS device - or at least create severe usability issues with it. This would be disastrous for us and the thousands of users who rely on this functionality.
With the functionality enabled via an opt-in setting, our users expect that, if for example they're asleep and get a push notification alerting them to an incident at 3am, they immediately hear the live audio from their department, without having to touch their phone, or ensure their phone and our app is in any particular state. Today, this works, as it has done for years. With the PTT framework, this does not appear to be possible.
Are there any entitlements or acceptable workarounds available that would allow us to:
Join a PTT channel automatically as a result of a push notification vs. requiring the user to open the app?
Join a PTT channel if another app is already using the PTT framework?
