To answer your questions:
1. Yes, it happens on several files. .swift files.
2. Yes the files open fine in any other app. I even re-downloaded the code from our repository. They are super basic swift files.
3. There are no strings in the file.
4. Yes, clean build, deleted derived data.
5. Hmmmm.... If I double click the file in the finder, the file opens in Xcode no problem. I think you are onto something here. How would I trouble shoot this?
6. Yes, things work in 12.5. Only 13.x fails. The strange thing is that Xcode fixed itself, worked flawlessly for a few days, opening the same files. Then started crashing.
7. I have not tried (13.2 ß)
8. No storyboards, it is a SwiftUI project
