Hello Kevin, Thank you again for this confirmation of the approach I need to have in mind when implementing the Matter Basic Video Player features. I also understand that basically the best person to develop/expose in a home automation app is the device vendor. This is a "general" broad ecosystem vendors assertion. Main Matter ecosystem vendors will provide access to their ecosystems (commissioning and matter accessory addin, but it is up to the manufacturer to create the UI that allows control of the functionalities and properties of their devices. Having this in mind I have created an App which lists Apple Home devices. From there I will request assistance on what steps need to be followed. To start communicating with a MTRBaseDevice as you recommended.

Does using Apples Home exposition of the Matter API, require to use a Apple specific Controller (Home Pod or Apple TV), or can any type of Matter controller (e.g : Google Nest Hub, Amazon Echo Show, Ikea Dirigera in a house hold be used ? It is not very clear for me if the controllers need to embed the Home environment or if the support of Matter controller features are sufficient ? Best regards.

Hi thank you again, for this detailed and very quick answer. I understand the clarification you introduced. A controller can be a hardware such as an (Apple TV, a Home Pod, a Google Nest Hub, Amazon Echo etc ...) ora software. Within the Apple Home API, the "Matter Framework" is an add-on, provided by Apple and which is a subcomponent of the larger connectedhomeip. It is up to vendors to use it to easily work within the Apple Home ecostystem. But this is not a mandatory requirement. This means a vendor can still go through the hassle of creating its on ecostystem, without the benefits of Apple Home UI helpers. Am I correct ?
