Okay, super.invalidateIntrinsicContenSize() seems to do the trick.

As for the Apple Engineer, this use case is common I'd say, to recalculate in an autolayout fashion a cell at a given point in time. I'd suggest to bring back this behaviour to the native cell invalidateIntrinsicContentSize() and to support this behaviour.
