We implemented Sign in with Apple ID in our web app, but we experience inconsistencies with the "Sign in with Apple" consent screen.
On this page, the logo of our app is inconsistently showing or not (and replaced by the default grey app icon). The showing changes depending on the language in which the page is shown.
I experienced this because my computer is a German computer, with English as the system language. As a result, the “Sign in with Apple” consent screen shows in German in some browsers, and in English in some other. When the page is in German, our logo is shown, when the page is in English, the logo does not show.
Our app is in German, and only available on the German App Store. As I understood, the logo is fetched from the Apple Store, so I think it comes from that.
It is good that browsers show the consent screen in user's language. But it looks like a bug that the logo of the app does not show, even though:
- I can finish the Sign in process
- the app is available in my region
Is there is a way to configure this?
For all services of Sign in with Apple, including Sign in with Apple JS, Sign in with Apple REST API, and `AuthenticationServices`, the app icon and name are derived from the binary of the Primary App ID published on the Apple App Store. If your application is only distributed in Germany, this behavior is expected.
