Do you need to be VAT registered to be Paid by Apple from App Sales?

I have a couple of Apps on the AppStore, one of which you have to purchase for 0.79p (Tier 1).

Another has iAD banners which obviously I will be changing next month.


My balance is beginning rise from the sale of my Apps.


I am an Apple Dev member still, with a linked bank account etc.


But my question is, do I need to be VAT registered to receive payments?

Or when I meet the payment threshold, will Apple just deposit the balance?
