Big Sur Update - Startup Disk Security Boot Error

Hi having trouble updating to the latest public developer beta.

On a 2019 MBP 13-inch, Big Sur 11.0 20A5384c updating to 11.0.1.

Using MacOS update facility on reboot for update install I get an error: "A software update is required to use this startup disk" with options to "update" or "select startup disk" (or something like this). If I choose update it then throws another message saying there has been an error. Otherwise, I'm just redirected to disk selection and then it boots normally.

I have checked and Boot Security settings are already turned to off.

Any ideas why this might be happening? I've updated through previous Big Sur builds no problem.

thank in advance for any assistance!

Kyle

Exact same issue here.

same issue here too. MBP 2018 15"
Doesn't want to update to 11.1 either :(
Hi

Any update on a solution?

I have the same issue but also keyboard and trackpad have gone completely unresponsive (have to use USB keyboard and mouse).

I’m having the same problem and every solution I have found is not working. I can’t even get into safe mode or anything other than the error screen and select startup disk. I can only turn on/off by holding the power button which returns me to the login screen then I login and it proceeds to DL and error repeating the process over and over. Has no one actually found a solution other than being forced to make an appointment at the apple store?
Following. Same issue on my end.
Following, same issue. Very frustrating.

Hi, did you find any solution? Did you give it to apple official repair? If yes, could they figure it out? I gave to official apple repair center, but they are still could not find the solution to this problem! (A software update is required to use this start up disk- the same problem on my Macbook pro 13 2019)
