Is this app nap in action? How could I disable it?

I'm asking on behalf of the mudlet development team.

Mudlet (a MUD client) doesn't seem to get the normal CPU time sys the my mac's screen is locked. (Ctrl-Shift-Eject)

It is time-sensitive, and it works just fine when everything is on, but when I turn off the screen, it would take seconds if not longer for it to respond to anything (on tcp connections).

How could we prevent this from happening?

NSProcess beginActivityWithOptions:reason: for example.

Thank you for the swift answer!
