Bluetooth 5 Extended Advertising and LE Coded PHY

When will Apple mobile phones support some of the optional features of Bluetooth 5... specifically Extended Advertising and LE Coded PHY?

There are many applications that benefit from having this capability in the mobile phone.

I am also very interested in this - Any information Kenya87

I have not received any information regarding the optional features of Bluetooth and if Apple has any plans to support them.

I am interested in extended range provided by Coded PHY. Is there a roadmap for this?

Yes. Thank you. I know you cannot provide more feedback but it would be great to understand why a feature introduced in the December 2016 Bluetooth 5.0 specification has not been incorporated yet. It may not be a priority and there may be no intention of incorporating it. I just don't know. Maybe I just need to assume it won't be incorporated and proceed with alternative options. It is a compelling use case for those in need.

I very much doubt you’ll get an answer to that. See tip 3 in Quinn’s Top Ten DevForums Tips.

I’m absolutely certain that I can’t answer that. My knowledge of Bluetooth is quite limited. Given that, I’m going to close this thread and I recommend that you post any future replies to that other thread.
