Please is there any fix or workaround to this? After updating to iOS 16 these problems started to happen on my iPhone XR. I can't use the phone and need it ASAP!
It was working perfectly before the update.

Same. iPhone 11pro - updated to 16.03 - wiped the phone and reformatted -and it's worse than ever.
Same this has been happening to my iPhone xs 64gb , ghost touching and it shows some kind of clipboard bar on top, it has made my device totally unusable, i got my xs used , but previous owner was certain he didnt replace the screen , so im sure this bug is software issues not hardware, please apple support fix this
Same here, had it on my XS (never had the screen replaced) for just over a month now. It began with the phone having a crazy seizure for about 10 mins, followed by a day of intense ghost touches and completely having a mind of its own, to then settling on the state its in now - the central, vertical portion of the screen at about a width of 1.5cm is completely unresponsive.
I'm not going to lie, this has really, really put me off Apple. Not even so much as an acknowledgement of the issue, despite what I'd say is a substantial number of people who are making it known they have the issue too. I'm currently travelling Latin America and now in Mexico - not the kind of place you'd want a non functional phone.........
Same issue, iPhone XS owned from new, no replacement parts. At first the screen was all buggy and glitchy so I entered DFU and wiped it. Aftrer restore still glitchy. I then used the recomended workarround of accessability bla bla and it seems more responsive but there is a secondary issue. There is a complete void down the left hand side of the screen. I opened a photo and in edit mode I can colour the whole thing in bar the left 5-10% of the photo. There is no way I have damaged touch this is absolutly a software issue like the touch area is incorrectly configured.
Hi there,
You might have better luck asking this question over in Apple Support Communities run by Apple Support.
Can anyone update to ios 16.1 to check the touch response?
I also have this problem my phone is unusable. Apple support in Singapore say that they are aware and are working on a fix without a timeframe.
I have filed a small small claims court case against apple here in New Zealand, it's not ok for them to brick our phones and give us no option to fix them other than just wait.
Can anyone confirm the issue still (or no longer) exists on iOS 16.1 ? I gave previous versions a try to no avail, so before wasting my time I thought I could ask
Ok replaying to myself, I gave iOS 16.1 a try on my iPhone X (has its screen replaced using non-Apple spare parts, I guess) - previous iOS 16 version made touch screen unusable (ghost touch issue) - But this time, it's been fixed !!! no need to downgrade to iOS 15.7 this time
Thought some of you guys may want to know
xs with 16.1
for me it seems to be something that runs in the background, and it gets worse on Friday and Saturday

Same problem! And still no stable update for that! shame on you Apple 🍎
What the heck Apple I literally have the same issue with everyone laggy ghost touches , it starts calling people randomly I have an iPhone 11 and it’s been with me just for 5 months when I update to 16.01 this is what happened!!!!
Im having same issue with an Iphone 13 pro max ios 16.1 lagging and freezing screens using native apps, imessage, mail and safari. Please whats the fix for this!? I cannot operate with these constant issues throughout the day..
Same issue here. Still waiting for any updates from apple team
Same issue here on a factory original iPhone XS with iOS 16.1.2. It seems there are times of the day when this problem does not occur. For example, at some point last night the problem stopped, and I was able to use my phone without any issues. Then around 8 or 8:15am this morning this problem suddenly reappeared.
I've never felt so seen. Just upgraded an iPhone X from 16.1 to 16.2 and the problem is still present. I've noticed when the ghost inputs happen the most, the temperature of the phone is also elevated.
same problem on ios16.3 on my iPhone XS Max
Same on my iPhone 11 running iOS 16.3.1. The ghost touch problem still exist in this version. Although it occurs less in this version but it still annoying. Apple, please fix this.
Same thing happening with me. Since like December 14th (apparently with the release of iPadOS 16.2 I think) my iPad 8th generation (2 years old) literally went nuts. The upper part of the screen (if it's vertical) won’t respond to touch or if it does it does it after many attempts. I thought for a long time that it was my fault but then reading online I noticed that many have this issue. I did all of the things that they suggest online, so restarting it, rebooting it, turning off all of the AssistiveTouch settings (btw I think that AT is a part of this problem, too cause I was using it to turn up the volume since the button is broken), I even brought it to the nearest Apple Center and they asked me €300 to fix it, what???? That’s like more than half of the price that I bought it.
Now it’s updated to iPadOS 16.3.1 but the problem is still here. Luckily I have my keyboard to type, otherwise I couldn’t even do that, since even the typing is broken. If I type on-screen for example the letter A, it will automatically type aaa 🫥
Wtf am I supposed to do? Oh I forgot to mention that I also have a pen (not the Apple Pencil) and sometimes the parts of the screen that my finger won’t touch will be activated by the pen.
I’m ofc really mad cause I need my iPad to study and I can’t afford to buy another one rn.
I got iPhone 8. And get big lag on YouTube Chrome…. I try the fix i found on the net but it does not work (hard reset, reinit…) BUT still lagging THEN i make a simple switch Off and wait 2 minutes and Turn ON again and THE LAG COMPLETLY DISAPEAR i think this manip permits to clean the ram completly
You need to downgrade your ios till the next update release
Yeah I just updated to 16.4.1 because of the security concerns but now my phone is pretty difficult to use. Ghost touches and not registering touches at all. Tried rebooting and everything :( Iphone 11 pro
Same here. After I've updated my XS 256GB to 16.4.1 because of the security recommendations. Ghost touches and display lags. I can't even hardly enter the ID-Code. My hopes were smashed to get it working with 16.4 in recovery mode, it flashes the buggy 16.4.1. So my iPhone XS is bricked.
I updated my iphone11 to the latest ios16 and within hours I couldn't use it due to ghost touch. And I can't turn it off - even the force shutdown turns itself back on again.
