Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use these 3D models from apple's official website in my application.
In the Swift Student Challenge application form there's a subpoint that asks whether I own all the rights to the content:
Did you use any content that you don‘t have ownership rights to?
Do I technically have the ownership rights for these models because they have been provided by apple for free or do I have to specify that I do not own the ownership rights in the application form?
Thank you & Regards
If I read correctly Apple notice here, you can : https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/quick-look/
You can embed Quick Look views in your apps and websites to let users see incredibly detailed object renderings in a real-world surrounding
So, you have no ownership (Apple has) but you were explicitly authorised to use in an iOS / iPad app (not elsewhere probably). If you want to be double sure, add a note to your submission, such as:
I embedded QuickLook 3D models from Apple in the app, according to the statement in https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/quick-look/ that I "can embed Quick Look views in your apps and websites to let users see incredibly detailed object renderings in a real-world surrounding"
