MAC address

I wanted to get the mac address of iPhone, but I was told that I was not allowed to get the value. The materials I looked for were all referring to the official statement that the mac address is not allowed to get after ios 7.0, but I couldn't find the official document, I want to know if there is a link to the official document that says the mac address is not allowed to get.
