Cant see any Documents and Desktop items on local hard disk after upgrading to macOS Tahoe 26

Today I upgraded my macOS from Sequoia to Tahoe 26 Public Beta. After upgrading, I do not see any of my documents and desktop items. When I go to Finder, I see a Cloud icon beside my Desktop and Documents. How can I get back my local files? I still see the local files in the downloads folder.

The Documents folder had all my important documents, and I couldn't afford to lose any of those. Please HELP!

You can store your Desktop items and Documents folder contents in iCloud Drive, so it looks like the Public Beta might have turned this option on.

Just go into your Settings app and into your Apple Account. In the iCloud section there'll be a "Drive" item, and within there will be a switch to turn off Desktop & Documents Folders.

(These steps are valid for Sequoia, and may have changed slightly in Tahoe, so take a minute and have a look around.)
