Missing notification – APNs success but not delivered to device

We have a customer reporting that they didn’t receive some of their push notifications. On November 3, 2025, four push notifications were sent — the customer received the first three but not the last one. Our logs show a successful response from APNs, with the apns-id c116d650-efc6-4fb1-8a74-382d5bab4692.

A very similar case occurred on October 31, where the customer also claimed not to have received the notification, yet our logs again show success from APNs with apns-id 1468ef43-66d6-40d2-b10a-c96889fcb65a.

Wondering if there any way to help us to trace these cases. Thanks

Based on our logs both of these notifications have been delivered to the target device successfully and without delay.

Either the customer is mistaken, or has taken an action that silences the notifications, for example going into a focus mode.

thanks for your help @Engineer! Is there a better/another way to trace this information for me?

There really isn't a better way to trace/debug specific push requests after the fact. If you are generally interested in tracking/confirming the fate of notifications, you can do that via a Notification Service Extension, which will be executed for every visible launch, so you can log your received notifications.

This still wouldn't help if the customer disables or otherwise configures your app's notifications to not ever be shown, but would work under normal circumstances like focus modes, sending your notifications to Summaries, and so on.
