I've been trying to have an app I've built notarized by Apple. The processing hangs there for hours just waiting. I even tried with a tiny 1KB test file, it has been stuck for 25+ minutes, and I have 7 real submissions stuck for 24+ hours. Any Apple representative can help please? I need to publish and release my app asap.
Notarization hangs forever
Same for me. It stuck state of "In progress" for more than 10 hours. Without errors or logs. Trying to get logs by transaction ids - saying that "Submission log is not yet available or submissionId does not exist".
I can see all the jobs id are still all in progress when running notarytool history. This is very frustrating to have to wait so long and not get un update as to when the app will get approved. And the generic reply from apple representative saying "usually this takes little time, sometimes longer" is not helping.
You can expect that most uploads will be notarised quickly. Occasionally, some uploads are held for in-depth analysis and may take longer to complete. As you notarise your apps, the system will learn how to recognise them, and you should see fewer delays.
For lots of additional info about notarisation, see Notarisation Resources. Specifically, it links to a Q&A with the notary service team that’s quite instructive.

Finally got all my submissions validated. Took 4 days in total. The subsequent request I tried today was almost instant.
Cool.
And, yeah, based on reports here on the forums, that seems to be a common pattern.
