iPhone 16 Pro failing to install new Siri Beta

I am currently on Apple's Dev Beta V4 for iOS 27. The first version I installed was the Dev Beta V2, I am desperate to try out the new Siri AI Beta, but it's just not installing for me.

I have the ability to "turn siri off" then "on again" and find I get the 2024 Apple Intelligence version fine.

But if I choose to try out the new AI Beta, I'm left with "Adding support for Siri is in progress. Siri will be unavailable until the update is complete." It's been in that state for over 48 hours in Beta 4 and I'm left with the OLD OLD Siri globe from pre-Apple intelligence.

Am I being too keen and just not leaving it long enough? Or is there a genuine issue at Apple's end, in regard to getting the new Siri to actually fully install?

Well, let’s see if Dev Beta 7 gets me anywhere with Siri… it really is getting rather boring, that we’re 7 versions in and the new Siri just doesn’t install.

It’s Wednesday night, after a Monday night install. The optimising has finished. Siri is in exactly the same spot that it’s in every other time.

I’ll add to the same feedback report, but it’s really starting to feel like no-one’s actually listening. We’re getting closer and closer to the RC version.

Well, let’s give 8 a while. Remember I first joined in in version 2… I’ve been through 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and STILL Siri Beta just sits there.

Hmmmm Beta 8 seems no different. Same feedback form updated with a fresh sysdiagnose file.

I‘m also having the same issue, I have been since beta 5 even though it was working on betas 1-2 for me (as I stated previously in this thread). It hasn’t been fixed for me up until now in beta 8, either. RC is now released, let’s give that a try.

Well, it’s the RC version. Only been a couple of hours, so nothing 100% yet. But so far, no difference to DevBeta 8

Update – iOS 27 Release Candidate

The issue remains unresolved on the iOS 27 RC.

After installing the RC, “Optimising Search and Siri” appeared and was allowed to complete. Apple Intelligence storage temporarily increased from 7.37 GB to 11.17 GB during the update, but subsequently returned to exactly 7.37 GB.

Once optimisation had completed, Siri AI continued to display “Adding support for Siri is in progress” and remains unavailable. Invoking Siri continues to fall back to the old pre-Apple-Intelligence Siri interface.

I have also re-enabled “Siri/Hey Siri”, completed the five-phrase voice recognition setup again, and restarted the iPhone, with no change.

One additional observation: entering siri:// in Safari is recognised as belonging to an app called “Siri”, but iOS asks me to restore the Siri app. Selecting “Show in App Store” then produces “App Not Available — This app is currently not available in your country or region.”

I’m literally on the same stuck phase since beta 1. I’m now on iOS27 RC on iPhone 15 pro. I’ve submitted feedback multiple times via the feedback assistant FB23365397

I've been having the exact same issue since beta 1 too.

Welp. The beta cycle for 27.0 has officially concluded with the stable release of iOS & iPadOS 27 (the RC build, which still contains the bug, was released as the final build)

What a shame. Apple went from being highly regarded for their polished software, to having software notorious for being filled with bugs. I’d also filed a bug report, just in case it’d help their engineers: FB24752597. I’d be very pleasantly surprised if this gets fixed in a 27.0.x update or in 27.1. I’m not getting my hopes up, though.

Well, an unexpected install today. Nothing in the Dev updates, but by turning them off, I got a 580MB update, note the build number. Whether it makes any difference to me… dunno yet.

I also have siri, iPhone 15 pro Max iOS 27 does not work. Did you manage to solve the problem?

hey @DTS Engineer, anything else we can do here?

@nischalj I would suggest patience so the engineering team can spend the time working on the issue and they can focus on providing a solution that works for everyone.

Thanks

I HAVE A SOLUTION! This at least worked in my situation. The issue resolved after I enabled the App Store and removed Screen Time restrictions, then restarted my phone. Based on the immediate download after restart, I suspect disabling the App Store was the blocking condition.
