Iphone 14 pro cannot charge using mfi lightning otg after upgrading to ios 27

Hi, i am using mopai kt393 which is listed on apple mfi devices list in web. My phone is 14 pro(ios 27) and cannot be charged via mopai kt393. I tried to use another phones : 14 pro(ios 18), 13 basic(ios 26), they were charged normally. Is this a bug of ios27? or new rules on ios 27? or mopai kt393 is actually not a mfi device? Anyone has this issue too?

Hi, I am using mopai kt393 which is listed on the Apple MFi devices list on the web. My phone is a 14 Pro(iOS 27) and cannot be charged via Mopai KT393.

What actually happens when you plug the device in? Do you get a warning about the accessory being uncertified, or does "nothing" happen? Also, is your phone able to charge through other sources? Finally, have you tried restarting the device?

Expanding on that last point, one thing I've seen a few different times going back 15+ years [1] is that if the right components crash in just the right way, it can leave the device in a state where it can't properly initialize the USB bus when you plug in the charging cable, leaving it without the ability to charge. All of these were resolved by rebooting.

[1] This isn't because there's a bug we've been ignoring. What's actually happening is that we fix a given bug, then a mistake a few years later, often in an entirely different component, ends up creating a failure that "looks" exactly the same. So there isn't any single bug, but a long sequence of unrelated issues that happen to end up looking similar.

@DTS Engineer Thank you for responding, I just see your reply.

[1] What actually happens when you plug the device in?
The mopai kt393's usb otg ports work normally when i plug any other device such as ssd, hdd, dac dongle, flashdisk, even i connect the otg to another usb hub which has rj45 port.
Also when i plug charging port, it provides power to connected ssd, hdd, etc, but not giving power to my 14 pro(ios27).
The weird case is that when i restart my 14 pro(ios27) without unplugging the charger and mopai kt393, after the phone's booted, it starts to charge. But when i unplug the plug again, it won't charge.
So the problem now is that i must restart my 14 pro(ios27) everytime i have unplugged the mopai kt393 to be able to charge again.
The other phones i tested were 14 pro(ios18) and 13 basic(ios26), they were charged normally without need to restart.

[2] Do you get a warning about the accessory being uncertified, or does "nothing" happen?
No warning and nothing happen.

[3] Also, is your phone able to charge through other sources?
My 14 pro(ios27) is normally charged using any lightning charger(without plugging to usb otg).

[4] Finally, have you tried restarting the device?
Yes, i answered on question 1.

Please help me to solve this problem, thank you so much.

Please help me to solve this problem, thank you so much.

So, based on this point:

The weird case is that when i restart my 14 pro(ios27) without unplugging the charger and mopai kt393, after the phone's booted, it starts to charge.

...I'm fairly confident that this is a bug on our side. If you havent already, I would suggest:

  • Reproduce the issue by restarting the device with it plugged in (showing the working case), then hot plugging it a few times (showing the failure), collect a sysdiagnose, and then upload the sysdiagnose to the bug you already filed.

  • Contact the manufacturer both to make them aware of the issue and just in case they know anything helpful.

Neither of these will immediately resolve the issue, but they could help speed up our investigation. Unfortunately, beyond that I'm afraid the only option is to wait for a fix from our side.
