Foveated streaming QR code Authentication alternative

I was wondering whether there is a way to authenticate a CloudXR connection without using a QR code in a local deployment scenario. If the server is running in a headless environment, QR code-based authentication would not be practical. I reviewed the documentation but could not find any information on alternative authentication methods. Is a non-QR authentication workflow similar to the remote case supported?

Hi @Goks918,

Local connections currently require QR code pairing. There's no supported alternative such as the header-based authentication used for remote endpoints. That said, the QR code doesn't need to appear on the server's own display. After your server receives the RequestBarcodePresentation message, it can present the code through any means the person can scan, for example on a web page viewed from another device. See Establishing foveated streaming sessions with Apple Vision Pro for more information.

If you'd like us to consider a non-QR workflow for local use cases, please file an enhancement request using Feedback Assistant with a detailed description of your use case, and post the FB number here.

Thanks!
