Any word on when Swift Playground for iPad will be upgraded to iOS 27 SDK?
Upgrade to iOS 27 SDK?
I can’t answer your direct question because there’s been no announcement of a timeline for that [1].
Looking at the history:
- Support for the iOS 26 SDK arrived 6 months after iOS 26 shipped.
There was no release that supported the iOS 18 SDK O-:Support for the iOS 17 SDK arrived 8 months after iOS 17 shipped.
[This is wrong. See below.]
All of these were too late for the corresponding year’s Swift Student Challenge )-:

There was no release that supported the iOS 18 SDK O-:
That's incorrect. Swift Playground 4.6 was the first version that silently included iOS 18 SDK.

And, according to the release notes, Swift Playgrounds 4.4 was the first version that included iOS 17 SDK. It was released just four days after iOS 18 came out.

So, the correct history is:
- Support for the iOS 26 SDK arrived 6 months after iOS 26 shipped.
- Support for the iOS 18 SDK arrived 4 months after iOS 18 shipped.
- Support for the iOS 17 SDK arrived 4 days after iOS 17 shipped.
Thanks for setting me straight!
Sadly, your update history tells a story that’s even worse )-:
I figured you meant iOS 17 in this quote. I’d offer to fix that, but I’m currently not able to do that (r. 191194688)-:
