We are currently facing a persistent issue where Apple Push Notifications (APNs) are no longer being delivered to devices. This is not an intermittent problem — push notifications have completely stopped working. We are using PushSharp.Apple (Version 4.0.10.0) to send the notifications.
Current Behavior (Failing):
Every notification request appears to be processed successfully from the server side.
However, the APNs client receives a 0-byte response, and the server closes the connection.
Devices do not receive the notifications at all.
Logs from Current (Failing) State:
APNS-Client[1]: Connected (Batch ID=1)
APNS-Client[1]: Sent Batch, waiting for possible response...
APNS-Client[1]: Received 0 bytes response...
APNS-Client[1]: Server Closed Connection...

For Reference – Successful Log From Earlier (When Notifications Worked):

According to the Apple notification alert received in October 2024, the APNS server certificate update for production is scheduled for February 24, 2025.
Has this change been implemented, or is there a platform or method to verify whether this update has been applied in production?
If so, where can we check this?"
I got a notification that the Certification Authority (CA) for Apple Push Notification service (APNs) is changing. Does this affect the push service for Apple Wallet passes or just for apps? I have a push service for Apple Wallet passes but no service for apps. I don't use push notification service for anything other than for Apple Wallet Pass push notifications, not at all for apps. Is there anything I need to do or is this not relevant to my situation?
If it does, what do I need to change in order to make sure my service still works? Do I just replace the certificate? Is there a standard path where it would live on the server?
I'm sure this is a simple thing, but it's been over a decade since I wrote the push service so I'm pretty rusty.
UNNotificationAttachment convenience init method seems to be checking for supported file types based on the extension of the file URL provided as a constructor parameter. This seems to be sub-optimal at best and incorrect at worst.
Is this is a known issue for which a bug already exists?

We want help from other developers on HOW TO: make sure that both old and new server certificates are included in the Trust Store
Exactly HOW is this done?
What is the Trust store and how is it accessed?
Is this done for our account once OR for each for the apps utilising APNs?
Can anyone assist?

Background:
The project was created in Xcode 5, then recreated in new Xcode. Before migration, push notifications worked without issues, after migration device token stopped being extracted.
Problem:
iOS app registers for push notifications, but didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken or didFailToRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithError methods are not being called.
Current situation:
App is registered for push notifications (isRegisteredForRemoteNotifications = true)
Notification permissions are granted
Entitlements are configured correctly (aps-environment: development)
Bundle ID: com.autoserviceonline.app
Team: BUSINESSVISION COMPANY, TOO (NS3FSG45V7)
But callback methods are not being called
What I've already tried:
Deleted and recreated all App IDs in Apple Developer Portal
Cleared Xcode cache and derived data
Created new APNs certificates and provisioning profiles
Removed "ghost" certificate from Keychain Access
Problem persists

Also noticed that Push Notifications Console opens non-existent project "BV.TestSwiftData" with Personal Team instead of current corporate App ID com.autoserviceonline.app. These issues might be related to project migration from old Xcode.

Why iOS doesn't call callback methods for device token, although registration was successful?
I downloaded the .crt file to take the following steps. Could you please give me a guide on how to actually apply the file to the server?
Upload only files to a specific path on the Linux server.
keytool -import -alias cacert -file ca.crt -keystore client.truststore.jks
Is it possible to just apply it with the above command?

I'm experiencing issues with didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken not being called on iOS 18.1.1. Here's what I've tried:
Basic Setup:

We operate a social network application, SportsYou with over 3 million monthly active users and are experiencing significant issues with push notification delivery through APNs.
We have a large number of users reporting they are not receiving push notifications. Our infrastructure uses AWS SNS integrated with APNs to deliver notifications. However, AWS CloudWatch consistently reports successful delivery (Success response), even though users confirm they never received the notifications.
Because we receive success responses from AWS SNS, our system does not attempt to recreate or refresh the device endpoints. This leaves us unable to detect or recover from these delivery failures automatically.
This issue is widespread and inconsistent. It affects users across multiple variables including different iOS versions, different device models, and different versions of our application. We cannot identify a clear pattern that would help us isolate the root cause.
With millions of active users, even a small percentage of delivery failures represents thousands of users experiencing a degraded service. This is significantly impacting user engagement and satisfaction.
We need guidance on how to properly diagnose this issue and ensure reliable notification delivery to our users. Specifically, we'd like to understand why we're receiving success responses when notifications aren't being delivered, and what steps we can take to detect and prevent these failures.

I am developing VOIP feature using PushKit and CallKit but CallKit is not show when app in background or terminate state, now in foreground state I can call reportNewIncomingCall from pushRegistry-didReceiveIncomingPushWith and it's work as expected but the problem is in background or terminate state it's not
my setup:
PushKit is configured
In Signing & Capabilities I add background modes (Remote notifications and Voice over IP)
In info.plist I add

I'm not sure should I create new VOIP Certificate but now I can receive message notification normally.

I’m currently working on an app designed for doctors to respond to life-threatening situations in hospitals. The goal is for critical alerts to trigger an alarm, regardless of whether the app is in the foreground or background. The critical alerts entitlement is already set up, but there’s a limitation: I can only attach a 30-second audio file to the notification, as I can’t run code to loop the sound when the app is swiped away.
Does anyone have suggestions on how I might approach this problem?

I'm developing a feature that's collecting the device locations for home security app.
We've been following

apns-push-type set to location.
apns-priority set to 5.
during testing, we found that the device's notification extension cannot be triggered after device going into lock screen for 10 mins.
Wonder should we set the priority to 10? Thanks!

It’s been just over two weeks since we submitted the request, and we haven’t received any updates yet. We understand these requests can take time, but it’s unclear what the typical timeline looks like or if there’s any way to check on the progress.
Is there a way to get an update or better understand where we are in the process? We’re trying to plan our release and would really appreciate any guidance on what to expect.

We have just been granted access to the com.apple.developer.usernotifications.filtering entitlement, and are following the documented steps for handled E2EE VOIP notifications listed here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/callkit/sending-end-to-end-encrypted-voip-calls
1 - A user initiates a VoIP call on their app. Their app then sends an encrypted VoIP call request to your server.
We do exactly this, Alice calls Bob from her app, sending a notification to our servers.
2 - Your server sends the encrypted data to the receiver’s device using a regular remote notification. Be sure to set the apns-push-type header field to alert.
We do exactly this, our server send on a notification to APNS with the apns-push-type header set to alert, destined for Bob.
3 - On the receiver’s device, the notification service extension processes the incoming notification and decrypts it. If it’s an incoming VoIP call, the extension calls reportNewIncomingVoIPPushPayload(_:completion:) to initiate the call. It then silences the push notification (see com.apple.developer.usernotifications.filtering).
I try to do exactly this. The notification is received by the NSE on Bob's device, which decrypts it and then notices it is a VOIP call from Alice. It prepares a dictionaryPayload with the decrypted data and then calls reportNewIncomingVoIPPushPayload(_:) async throws. This throws an NSXPCConnectionInterrupted error, which when logged shows as below:

The only difference I can see to the documentation is that I am working in an asynchronous context so am using the asynchronous version of the method, but I don't imagine this should cause an issue?
I then supress the notification as documented and this works correctly.

Apple Push Notification service server certificate update
I followed above,
a new server certificate: "SHA-2 Root : USERTrust RSA Certification Authority certificate" was added to my push server, but a certificate error occurred and push notifications could not be sent.
So I refered this article,Instead of connecting via DNS name resolution at api.development.push.apple.com,
I fixed api.development.push.apple.com to "17.188.143.34" in /etc/hosts,
I could push notifications with the new server certificate.
(I got this IP(17.188.143.34) from this airtcle)
From this, I suspect that Apple had not yet updated the APNs certificate (CA) for the Sandbox environment as of 2:00 PM on January 21, 2025 (JST).
Was the update published as scheduled?

Hi all,
I’m running into an issue with provisioning profiles not including the com.apple.developer.push-notifications entitlement — even though everything seems to be configured correctly.
Here's what I’ve done:
Checked the App ID has Push Notifications enabled.
I’ve clicked “Configure” and created a Production APNs certificate under the App ID.
I’ve regenerated the provisioning profiles (Ad Hoc and App Store).
I can see within the profiles within App Store Connect that the push notifications capability is listed
I’ve downloaded and decoded the profiles using:
security cms -D -i profile.mobileprovision > decoded.plist
But com.apple.developer.push-notifications is still missing under the <key>Entitlements</key> block.
This is causing issues because:
When I submit the build to eas I receive this error from XCode:
- Provisioning profile "*** Adhoc" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.push-notifications entitlement. Profile qualification is using entitlement definitions that may be out of date. Connect to network to update. (in target '***' from project '***')
Refer to "Xcode Logs" below for additional, more detailed logs.
To isolate the issue further I:
Created a completely new App ID, enabling Push Notifications from the start.
Created new APNs certificate.
Generated new provisioning profiles with a valid distribution certificate.
Still no push entitlement embedded in the profile.
Question:
Has anyone else encountered this issue where Push Notifications are enabled and configured, but the entitlement still fails to embed in the profile?

Me and many other users have issue with push notifications. To reproduce this you should do this steps:
Lock iPhone and make it idle for 10+ minutes;
Send any message from other device via third-party app that uses push notifications (WhatsApp, Telegram and etc.);
After few attempts you can see, that messages don't deliver. They delivers immediately when I unlock iPhone or go to the app.
This bug reproduces on iOS 18.7 and 27.
As I think iPhone goes to deep sleep after 10+ minutes after it locked and don't get push notifications. I've tried everything: many of settings, DFU without backup, but nothing helps to resolve this issue. Pay attention, please, cause this bug is very annoying and present on iOS 18.7 (that is the last for many devices) and latest iOS 26. Thanks!
