Comment on Battery passthrough for virtual machines on Apple Silicon?
Thanks for your answer. Yea I was hesitant about posting here and yea I was right even from before that I shouldn’t post here In the first place. In that case, I’ll just try do a feature enhancement request through VMware but chances will be uncertain. Thanks for your help though. Didn’t receive any responses from apple suggestion feedback since a month ago so yea I’ll try reach out to vmware. Edit: I meant for battery passthrough for windows guests not MacOS guests.

So I’m asking by a perspective as a consumer level of using VM apps built by other developers. I’ve noticed that VM softwares in general that assume they’re on AC power mode seems to drain battery much faster unlike parallels which is the only software that reads battery from host as it syncs and mirrors battery from the host compared to the others. Hope what I said makes sense.

Asking at a consumer level of using other VM softwares built from other developers. AC mode on a MacBook seems to drain battery heavily unless it knows there’s a battery and syncs with the power options and battery mode.
