Reply to Location Services stopped working across the system on macOS
Hi, I’ve been experiencing the same problem for the past few days. I have two MacBook Pros, an M4 and an M2, and both started having geolocation issues after updating to macOS 27.0.1. Location services are not working properly in Maps, Weather, Safari, and other apps. I’ve tried almost everything, including: Checking location permissions for Maps, Weather, and browsers. Restarting both Macs. Connecting to different Wi-Fi networks. Using my iPhone’s Personal Hotspot. Creating a new network location. Testing with a new macOS user account. Testing in Safe Mode. Checking VPN, proxy, and DNS settings. Removing an old VPN configuration. Reinstalling macOS through Recovery without erasing the disk. Completely erasing one Mac and reinstalling macOS at an Apple Store. Unfortunately, nothing has solved the problem. The issue is very random. Sometimes location services work for a while, then suddenly stop working again. Sometimes they don’t come back for several hours. Since both Macs are affected after the same macOS update, I suspect this might be a macOS bug rather than a hardware or network problem. Has anyone else experienced this issue with macOS 27.0.1? Has anyone found a permanent solution? Thanks!
