Did you receive any answer on your feedback? I'm having this same issue on a production app, but it seems there is no official acknowledgement from Apple. I suspect there are even other bugs when using a NavigationSplitView nested inside a TabView, for example the sidebar toggle glitching up and down when pressed, etc.
