Any solution come up for the 49218-error yet? I have a Seagate 5TB HDD (NPFS-formatted), and face the same challenge. Will have a chat with Mac support in town later today, and see it it’s possible to connect to an Ipad Pro, as some suggested. (Have tried "sudo pkill" in terminal + first aid several times with no result.) Will let you know how it goes🙏
