Comment on Apple Development Certificate not trusted - no root cert found even though they are installed
Quick update, after evaluating the certificate using the right click option I noticed that the Organisational Unit was G4 and based on what I had seen in the Apple certificates link https://www.apple.com/certificateauthority/ there was a worldwide Developer Relations - G4 (Expiring 12/10/2030 00:00:00 UTC) certificate which was probably the only one I did not have in my keychain. After downloading this one my push services certificate had the green tick and was now valid.

Comment on Apple requires old and new apps to be built with Xcode 14.1, iOS 16.1 SDK and mac OS 13 or later
Sadly Not, my MacBook is a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) which is not listed as compatible with Monterey according to https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT212551
