Totally agree, and it's too frustrating.
Somehow this reminds me of how Apple introduced TextKit 2 with tons of bugs and feature limitations, then silently dropped supporting it or even talking about it—now TextKit 2 is in some sort of limbo and looks like a Schrödinger’s cat.
Hope it won't be the case with agents, but the overall inconsistency in Apple’s moves regarding developers is sometimes scary. It's definitely not a way to win developers' trust.
