I had another idea that builds on this concept — I’d love your thoughts on it. What if the radar overlay in CarPlay wasn’t just live, but actually forecasted based on your ETA? Example: Let’s say you’re leaving on a 3-hour trip and there’s a storm expected near your destination in 2 hours. Even though it’s not raining there yet, the CarPlay map would show radar activity in that area based on the time you’ll arrive, not just what’s happening right now. So instead of just displaying current weather, the radar would be time-shifted to show what the weather will likely be when you’re driving through each part of your route. It would give you a heads-up before you drive into rough conditions — super helpful for long drives, road trips, or emergency response work. I think this could be a powerful evolution of the original idea, especially if CarPlay used forecast data from the Weather app (via WeatherKit) to make it happen.
