Hi all this is how it worked for me. Added an app icon set with my desired image(jpg). 1024x1024. Added an app image set, converted to 1x 2x 3x in my asset file. In main app target I went to Build Settings, Alternate App Icon Sets and added the new app icon name. Then in my Info Plist I added the same Image and AppIcon name as the image for the Launch Screen. Clean build folder didn't help, I think I had chached images, I did build in a brand new simulator and it worked.
