For anyone else randomly getting hit by this, I assume it's related to this other issue , and changes to how "App Groups" work in newer Xcode releases. In my case, rebuilding provisioning profiles in the Developer portal, downloading them, and turning off "Automatically manage signing" in Xcode seems to have resolved my build issue. Now I'll have to actually test it, and see if App Groups actually work as expected for my XPC client...
