ScreenCaptureKit on iPadOS 27 is capped at 60 fps on 120Hz ProMotion devices, even with minimumFrameInterval set to 1/120
On an iPad Pro 11-inch (M4) running iPadOS 27.0 (24A437), ScreenCaptureKit delivers a maximum of 60 frames per second when capturing the entire screen, even while an app is rendering at 120 fps (confirmed with the Metal Performance HUD). What I tested: Default configuration: exactly 60 fps, with every frame timestamp spaced 16.67ms apart. Setting minimumFrameInterval to 1/120 and queueDepth to 8, both before starting the stream and through updateConfiguration after it started: the values are accepted and read back correctly, but delivery stays at exactly 60 fps. Smaller output sizes (1/4 and 1/8 of native resolution): still 60 fps. ReplayKit broadcast upload extension: also exactly 60 fps. Also, minimumFrameInterval and queueDepth are documented as available on iOS/iPadOS 27, but the iOS 27 SDK marks them as unavailable. Request: please allow ScreenCaptureKit to capture at the display's full refresh rate (up to 120 fps) on ProMotion devices when minimumFrameInterval asks for it, and make minimumFrameInterval available in the iOS SDK.

MetalFX for Unity 2022.3.62f3?
Hi, I’m testing Unity’s Spaceship HDRP demo on iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPad Pro M4 (iOS 26.1). Everything renders correctly, and my custom MetalFX Spatial plugin initializes successfully — it briefly reports active scaling (e.g. 1434×660 → 2868×1320 at 50% scaling), then reverts to native rendering a few frames later. Setup: Xcode 16.1 (targeting iOS 18) Unity 2022.3.62f3 (HDRP) Metal backend Dynamic Resolution enabled in HDRP assets and cameras Relevant Xcode console excerpt: [MetalFXPlugin] MetalFX_Enable(True) called. [SpaceshipOptions] MetalFX enabled with HDRP dynamic resolution integration. [SpaceshipOptions] Disabled TAA for MetalFX Spatial. [SpaceshipOptions] Created runtime RenderTexture: 1434x660 [MetalFX] Spatial scaler created (1434x660 → 2868x1320). [MetalFX] Processed frame with scaler. [MetalFXPlugin] Sent RenderTexture (1434x660) to MetalFX. Output target 2868x1320. [SpaceshipOptions] MetalFX target set: 1434x660 [SpaceshipOptions] Camera targetTexture cleared after MetalFX handoff. It looks like HDRP clears the camera’s target texture right after MetalFX submits the frame, which causes it to revert to native rendering. Is there a recommended way to persist or rebind the MetalFX output texture when using HDRP on iOS? Unity doesn’t appear to support MetalFX in the Editor either: Thanks!

Enable Metal Performance HUD on iPhone & iPad?
I am trying to work out how to enable the Metal HUD on iOS for App Store games? I am aware you can go into Developer settings and enable it… but it only appears for some games like HADES or TestFlight apps. I know the HUD appears for sideloaded games too. With sideloadly, I’ve sideloaded GRID Autosport and Myst - per screenshots. But it’s a very time consuming process, on demand resources usually don’t download… and I’m not sure if its legal. I tried using Xcode and Attach to Process for a game like Resident Evil 7 or just anything… but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried restoring a backup and editing the .GlobalPreferences.plist and info.plist file with “MetalForceHudEnabled Boolean Yes”, in a new row… but nothing. any ideas?

Show MetalFX scaling in Metal HUD iOS
Hi there, I'm wondering if it's possible under iOS 28 developer beta to enable MetalFX scaling info with '{"MTL_HUD_ENABLED": "1" for my App. This information has been added to Mac, but looks to be absent on iPhone / iPad
