I'm seeing the same issue. Even applying .tint(.accentColor) at the root level still pulls the system color instead of from the asset catalog. What does work is setting .tint() at the root level to a programmatically created Color instance.

I ran into this issue using 26.0.1 and was able to resolve it by creating a workspace for my project. For some reason using only a project (created with Xcode template) was giving me the "could not load data" error.
