Following up on this a year later - has anyone found a solution for this?

I am not sure if you ever figured this out, but I was having this issue when running my app on the iOS simulator, which I had just reset, so it did not have an active iCloud account. When running on my phone (which has my personal iCloud account) everything worked well!
