Safari-like toolbar in visionOS
I like the toolbar visionOS's Safari uses for back & forward page, share, etc. It floats above the window. My attempt to do this with ornaments isn't as satisfying as they partially cover the window. My attempts with toolbar haven't produced visible results. Is this Safari-style toolbar for visionOS exposed by Apple in the API's? If so, could someone point me to documentation or sample code? Thanks!

WebPage "older version of your browser"
I have a visionOS app using Apple's WebView and WebPage to display web content. When viewing a live YouTube stream last night, YouTube put up the warning in the area that would have the chat window: Oh no! It looks like you're using an older version of your browser. Please update it to use live chat. Anyone know if YouTube is generating this from the server based on the WebPage's user agent string, from Javascript running in the browser engine, or something else? Anyone know if and how it is possible to resolve this? (See right side of YouTube web page from a screen grab):

Spatial-backdrop standards process
Apple's WWDC video What’s new for the spatial web says the spatial-backdrop markup may change as it goes through the standards process (at 27:26 mark). I have started adding spatial-backdrops to web pages, so I want to keep an eye out for status updates by Apple and follow the standards progress. Is there any place I can keep an eye on this standards process? Has Apple announced any feature updates or news on spatial-backdrops?

ARView environment.lighting IBL from HDR file
I have an iOS app that can display a USDZ model downloaded from the Internet (and cached locally) via an ARView. I would like to light that model with an image based light (IBL) also downloaded from the Internet. However, as far as I can tell, ARView can only create an IBL from a resource that has been compiled into the Xcode project and loaded with EnvironmentResource(named:in:) or EnvironmentResource.load(named:in:). Is there a way to create an EnvironmentResource from an HDRI via a file URL to use in ARView in iOS?

WebPage and WebView and status bar
I am using WebView and WebPage to display web pages. Some web pages have content fixed to the top of the screen (like apple.com). When this happens, content is under the status bar (like menu buttons), and I cannot tap them. My work around is to put the WebView in a VStack with the top being Color.clear.frame(height: 44). It isn't very elegant, especially since it is applied to all pages and not just pages with fixed content at the top. Is there a more Apple-y way to solve this? For example, Safari seems to detect these situations and puts something like Color.clear.frame(height: 44) in those cases but not other cases. Here is sample code: import SwiftUI import WebKit struct ContentView: View { @State private var page: WebPage init() { let configuration = WebPage.Configuration() page = WebPage(configuration: configuration) let url = URL(string: "https://www.apple.com")! let request = URLRequest(url: url) page.load(request) } var body: some View { WebView(page) } } Here is a screenshot of Apple's page in WebView with the menu Here is a screenshot of Apple's page in Safari. It appears to have inserted a spacer frame at the top for Apple's page (but not, for example, my own web site which doesn't have this problem).

FYI: Network System extension, macOS update issue, loss of networking
This is just an FYI in case someone else runs into this problem. This afternoon (12 Dec 2025), I updated to macOS 26.2 and lost my network. The System Settings' Wi-Fi light was green and said it was connected, but traceroute showed "No route to host". I turned Wi-Fi on & off. I rebooted the Mac. I rebooted the eero network. I switched to tethering to my iPhone. I switched to physical ethernet cable. Nothing worked. Then I remembered I had a beta of an app with a network system extension that was distributed through TestFlight. I deleted the app, and networking came right back. I had this same problem ~2 years ago. Same story: app with network system extension + TestFlight + macOS update = lost network. (My TestFlight build might have expired, but I'm not certain) I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I thought I'd share this in case it helps.

Transaction.currentEntitlements returning all transactions
[EDIT: Please ignore. Will delete in a second] Transaction.currentEntitlements is returning the complete history of transactions on a subscription product. I have a program with an In-App Purchase for a monthly subscription. I am testing with a local StoreKit file in Xcode. I configured the StoreKit test file to update every minute. When the program starts, I retrieve the current transactions from StoreKit to see if there is an active subscription. for await verificationResult in Transaction.currentEntitlements { guard case .verified(let transaction) = verificationResult else { continue } // update status for subscriptions This morning's testing is showing transactions for all transactions, both current and past. The current subscription renewal is sent plus all the past renewals that have expired. I thought in my previous testing that only one transaction (i.e., the latest/current) was sent per Product ID. Is this (all subscription transactions) the expected behavior, or should I file a bug report? Example debug output from Transaction.currentEntitlements loop (top transaction is the current one, but past expired ones are provided too; "DEBUG CURRENT ----" separates individual transactions): DEBUG CURRENT: getCurrentEntitlements BEGIN DEBUG CURRENT ---- DEBUG CURRENT: for product pro.monthly DEBUG CURRENT: Verified Reason: Renewal DEBUG CURRENT: Ownership: Purchased DEBUG CURRENT: Purchases: is good DEBUG CURRENT: signed date: 2026-03-26 17:37:12 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: purchase date: 2026-03-26 17:36:24 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: environment: Environment(rawValue: "Xcode") DEBUG CURRENT: store front: Storefront(countryCode: "USA", id: "143441", localeStorage: en_US (fixed en_US)) DEBUG CURRENT ---- DEBUG CURRENT: for product pro.monthly DEBUG CURRENT: Verified Reason: Renewal DEBUG CURRENT: Ownership: Purchased DEBUG CURRENT: Expired 2026-03-26 17:36:24 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: signed date: 2026-03-26 17:35:25 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: purchase date: 2026-03-26 17:35:24 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: environment: Environment(rawValue: "Xcode") DEBUG CURRENT: store front: Storefront(countryCode: "USA", id: "143441", localeStorage: en_US (fixed en_US)) DEBUG CURRENT ---- DEBUG CURRENT: for product pro.monthly DEBUG CURRENT: Verified Reason: Renewal DEBUG CURRENT: Ownership: Purchased DEBUG CURRENT: Expired 2026-03-26 17:35:24 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: signed date: 2026-03-26 17:34:25 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: purchase date: 2026-03-26 17:34:24 +0000 DEBUG CURRENT: environment: Environment(rawValue: "Xcode") DEBUG CURRENT: store front: Storefront(countryCode: "USA", id: "143441", localeStorage: en_US (fixed en_US))

Transaction.unfinished not getting unfinished transactions
I am testing auto renewing subscriptions for a macOS program in Xcode with a local Storekit file. I have renewals set to occur every minute for testing. I quit the app, and watch renewals appear in the Debug transaction manager window. Each is marked unfinished. When I start the app, I call a function that is supposed to get unfinished transactions and finish them. In one of those "I swore it worked the other day", I am now finding it isn't working. The unfinished transaction remain marked as unfinished. func getUnfinished() async { for await verificationResult in Transaction.unfinished { guard case .verified(let transaction) = verificationResult else { continue } await transaction.finish() } } If I add an AppStore.sync() right before looping on Transaction.unfinished, it works (i.e., cleans up unfinished transactions), but I get an alert I have to click through. do { try await AppStore.sync() } catch { print("DEBUG UNFINISHED: AppStore.sync() failed: \(error)") } Any idea why Transaction.unfinished isn't fetching unfinished transactions for me (without the AppStore.sync)?

RoomPlan and RealityKit?
Apple's RoomPlan demo software page says it is powered by RealityKit, but I am having troubles finding any hooks into the standard RealityKit APIs. For example, RoomPlanView doesn't seem to be related to ARView, and I cannot find any Scene property to access (or add) RealityKit entities. Does anyone know if these RealityKit classes are accessible through RoomPlanView? Note: I did find the ARSession through roomCaptureView?.captureSession.arSession

Xcode does not see Apple Vision Pro headset
I have had my Apple Vision Pro headset working with Xcode before, but it has been a while since testing in the headset. Today, Xcode on my M1 Mac Studio could not see my Apple Vision Pro to run code on the headset. I have updated my headset to visionOS 2.4 developer beta Both Mac and headset are on the same Wi-Fi network (I am typing this on my Mac via Mac Virtual Display). Headset has developer mode turned on. Initially I tried on the latest macOS (15.3.x) an Xcode (16.2) releases, but Xcode failed to find the headset. I installed the lated Xcode beta (16.3 beta), but it still failed to find the headset. I installed the latest developer beta on my Mac (15.4), but neither Xcode (16.2) nor Xcode beta (16.3) can find the headset. When I try to manage devices in Xcode, my Apple Vision Pro headset does not appear. Any idea what I am missing?

Scene's origin relative to portal's window?
I am experimenting with RealityKit to set up a portal. Everything works, but I was wondering where the scene's origin is with respect to the front of the portal window? From experiments, the origin's X and Y appear to be at the center of the portal window, while the origin's Z appearing to be about a meter behind the portal window. Is this (at least roughly) correct? Is it documented anywhere? PS. I began with the standard visionOS app and edited the Reality Composer Pro file to create the scene.

App Groups names are red
I have recently restarted an old code base. The app uses App Groups to communicate with network and endpoint system extensions. For some reason, in Xcode > Target > Signing & Capabilities the app groups are showing up with red text. I feel the red signifies a problem, but I cannot figure out what it is. The app compiles and runs, but I feel there is problem that I am missing. Any idea why App Group names would be displayed in red?

In Reality Composer Pro, why is the Sky Sphere so much larger than the Sky Dome? By my estimate, the Sky Sphere has a radius of 100m, while the Sky only has a radius of only 12m.
